alhadath – cairo
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.
Spokesman for Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the call focused on the latest regional developments in the aftermath of the Israeli aggression that targeted the State of Qatar earlier today. The two leaders reiterated their absolute condemnation and vehement denunciation of this unacceptable act of aggression, considering it an outrageous violation of the sovereignty of a sisterly Arab state and a flagrant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The two leaders underscored the grave danger of this unjustified Israeli escalation, particularly in light of Qatar’s continued vital role in mediation efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ending the catastrophic humanitarian situation caused by the Israeli war on the Strip for nearly two years. In this context, the two leaders reaffirmed their full solidarity with Qatar, stressing their support for its stability, safeguarding its sovereignty, and protecting the safety and unity of its territory in the face of this unacceptable aggression.
President El-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation between Egypt and Jordan, given the extremely serious threat posed by this blatant Israeli escalation, which risks dragging the region into further tension and instability. They underscored the necessity to expedite de-escalation efforts and halt all provocative actions that would only deepen the crisis in the Middle East.
