This evening, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended the inauguration ceremony of the State’s Strategic Command at the New Capital.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that a motorcycle escort and mounted cavalry accompanied the President’s motorcade upon his arrival at the headquarters of the State’s Strategic Command.
The President was received by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher; Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa; and the commanders of the Armed Forces’ main branches.
The President then rode in an open-top ceremonial vehicle to the main celebration platform, accompanied by the Commander-in-Chief, the Chief of Staff, and the commanders of the Armed Forces’ main branches. This coincided with a 21-gun salute and an aerial escort by Apache helicopters. On his way to the platform, the President inspected the assembled troops and military equipment while the military band performed a salute in his honor.
Upon the President’s arrival at the main platform, the guard of honor performed the military salute, and the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt was played, marking the beginning of the ceremony.
The event opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a musical performance by the orchestra, choir, and military band. A documentary film about the State’s Strategic Command was then shown. Afterwards, the President presented the Armed Forces’ flag, topped with the Holy Quran, to the commander of the honor guard in preparation for raising it over the State’s Strategic Command headquarters.
President El-Sisi proceeded to the platform designated for signing the official inauguration document for the State’s Strategic Command, accompanied by the Commander-in-Chief, the Chief of Staff, and the commanders of the Armed Forces’ main branches. The President signed the inauguration document and pressed the button to raise the flag. As the military band played the flag salute, the flags were raised atop the octagons, an 11-gun artillery salute was fired to mark the occasion, and the aerobatics team performed a flyover.
Following this, the President returned to the main platform, where he witnessed the passing of an open-top bus carrying a group of children. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher then delivered a speech marking the occasion, after which he presented the President with a commemorative gift consisting of a replica model of the State’s Strategic Command. The paratroopers and the air force then performed two military displays, followed by the screening of a film titled “Great Leaders.”
The second phase of the ceremony’s program included the President inspecting the Armed Forces Operations Center, where the Chief of the Armed Forces Operations Authority provided a briefing on the center. The President also inspected the readiness of the duty elements, main branches, and field formations. This was followed by taking a number of official commemorative photos on this historic occasion: the first featured the President and the First Lady with senior state officials and military leaders; the second included the President and the First Lady with various segments of the Egyptian society; and the third featured the President with the commanders of the Armed Forces.
Following this, the President and the First Lady watched a musical performance by the orchestra and choir, coinciding with the illumination of the octagons, followed by a vocal performance by an Egyptian female artist. Afterward, a drone show took place, forming the phrase “Long live the peace-loving peoples of the world.” To conclude the events of the celebration, the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt was played, signaling the end of the ceremony.
