President El-Sisi Heads to the Greek Capital Athens

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi heads to Athens, Greece, for an official visit to the Hellenic Republic, as part of efforts to strengthen relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that during the visit, the President will meet with the President of Greece, and hold talks with the Greek Prime Minister. The President will also lead the Egyptian delegation in the first meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council between Egypt and Greece, with the participation of Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who will lead the Greek side in the meeting.

The council is set to discuss ways to further strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in energy, trade and economic cooperation. During the visit, a joint declaration on the strategic partnership between the two countries will be signed, along with a number of Memoranda of Understanding, to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

In his meetings with Greek officials, the President will discuss the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest. Following his official visit to Greece, the President will head to the Russian capital, Moscow, to participate in the Victory Day celebrations on May 9, at an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
