President El-Sisi Meets CEOs of Norwegian Companies Scatec and Yara, and Norfund

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the CEOs of the Norwegian company “Scatec”; the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries “Norfund”; and the Norwegian company “Yara”. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the President’s official visit to Norway, the second leg of his current European tour.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the meeting reviewed Egypt’s ambitious economic development program, with an emphasis on the importance Egypt places on empowering the private sector and attracting more foreign direct investments. This is in addition to Egypt’s commitment to supporting foreign companies operating in Egypt.

President El-Sisi commended the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and Norwegian companies operating in the field of green investment. He underscored Egypt’s endeavor to become a hub for green energy in the region, emphasizing its keenness on supporting all relevant projects.

For their part, the CEOs of the two Norwegian companies expressed gratitude to the President for the attention and support given to Norwegian investments in Egypt. The meeting also focused on the opportunities for cooperation with the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries “Norfund”, as well as the expansion of projects by “Scatec” and “Yara” in Egypt. Additionally, it reviewed progress in ongoing projects, and ways to enhance them.
