Today, in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of the United Arab Emirates His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that President El-Sisi and HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed toured the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. During the tour, the President was briefed on the university’s facilities, departments, academic programs, and its cutting-edge innovations in the fields of advanced technology and artificial intelligence, which contribute to supporting the UAE’s objectives in this area.
The two leaders held a bilateral meeting over a working lunch, during which President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and gracious reception. The President praised the unprecedented level of coordination, consultation, and cooperation the two countries have reached across various fields, particularly in trade and investment. President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s openness to further Emirati investments, noting that relations between the two countries represent a fundamental pillar of Arab national security and regional stability.
For his part, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed President El-Sisi to his second home, the United Arab Emirates, underscoring the special nature of the relationship between the two countries and the UAE’s keenness to advance bilateral relations with Egypt to broader horizons, including trade and investment fields.
The two presidents further reviewed current regional developments, reaffirming the significance of Arab solidarity at this critical stage in the Middle East. In the same context, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, stressing the necessity of the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Strip, the full implementation of US President Trump’s peace plan, and the enhancement of the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza without restrictions, especially with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.
The two leaders also underscored the need to swiftly commence early recovery and reconstruction efforts in the Strip, highlighting the importance of advancing a just and comprehensive peace process in the region based on the “two-state solution,” in a way that ensures lasting peace, security, and regional stability. In this context, the two presidents reiterated the indispensability of continuing efforts to resolve the region’s crises through peaceful means, in a way that preserves the unity and territorial integrity of states and the resources of their peoples, and avoids any escalation in the region given the repercussions such escalation would have for all.
