Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Coordinator for Middle East and North Africa at the US National Security Council Brett McGurk. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdel-Atty, Director of the General Intelligence Service Hassan Rashad and US Ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg. The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the meeting reviewed the latest regional developments and efforts by both sides to reach a ceasefire agreement and exchange captives in Gaza. The President stressed the importance of urgent action to enforce humanitarian aid to the Strip, especially as winter approaches. The two-state solution was emphasized as the basic guarantee for achieving peace and stability in the Middle East. The meeting also discussed the implementation and ways to maintain the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon as the core for regional calm efforts, as well as discussed the developments in Syria. The President stressed in this regard the utmost importance of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of Syria and the security of its people. The meeting emphasized the depth of the strategic relations between Egypt and the United States, and the two countries’ keenness to continue strengthening them in a way that serves their common interests.
