President El-Sisi Speaks with Amir of Kuwait HH Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah

alhadath – cairo

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the two leaders exchanged views on regional developments, primarily the blatant Israeli attack on the State of Qatar. President El-Sisi and HH Sheikh Meshal expressed their categorical condemnation of this assault, considering it a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and an unacceptable encroachment on the sovereignty of a fellow Arab state. They affirmed their full solidarity with Qatar in this critical situation, reiterating their absolute support for its efforts to safeguard its security and stability, particularly in light of its joint mediation efforts with Egypt to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and end the catastrophic humanitarian tragedy caused by the Israeli war.

The call also focused on developments in the Gaza Strip. The two leaders underscored the alignment of their views regarding the imperative need for an immediate and urgent ceasefire and the entry of sufficient humanitarian aid into the Strip. President El-Sisi and HH Sheikh Meshal strongly voiced their vehement condemnation of the Israeli military escalation, and categorical rejection of attempts to displace the Palestinians or turn the Strip into an uninhabitable area. Both sides stressed the importance of urgent action by the international community to stop Israeli violations, reduce tension in the region, and launch a serious political process leading to the implementation of the two-state solution by establishing an independent Palestinian State along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. They emphasized that this is the only way to achieve just, lasting, and comprehensive peace.

There was agreement between the President and the Amir of Kuwait to continue coordination and consultations between the two countries on various regional and international issues to strengthen the historical and close ties that unite Egypt and Kuwait.
