Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President El-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II discussed regional developments, primarily with regard to the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, including the exchange of hostages and detainees and the delivery of humanitarian aid and relief to the residents of the sector. The two leaders emphasized the importance of the full implementation of the agreement and the vital need to accelerate the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
President El-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II reiterated the imperative to achieve lasting peace in the region, based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the sole guarantor to realizing peace and stability in the Middle East. They affirmed the necessity to adopt a unified Arab stance, demanding the achievement of enduring peace in the Middle East, so as to achieve the desired stability and economic prosperity.
The President and the Jordanian King also discussed developments in Syria, stressing the importance of achieving stability in the country and preserving its unity, territorial integrity, and the security of its people. They affirmed the necessity of initiating an inclusive political process that does not exclude any party and, instead, embraces all components and factions of the Syrian people.
The two leaders addressed the situation in Lebanon, and affirmed the significance of the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1701. They stressed their keenness on the security, sovereignty, and stability of Lebanon.
President El-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II underscored their commitment to continued bilateral coordination and consultation, with both countries asserting their persistent cooperation across various fields.
