Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said the call focused on the latest regional developments. President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s condemnation of Iran’s attacks against the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Jordan’s leadership and people in confronting the challenges facing the region.
The President stressed that Egypt rejects any attempts to undermine Jordan’s security and stability, and stands firmly by the Kingdom in all efforts that strengthen its national security and safeguard the interests of its people.
President El-Sisi noted that Egypt is intensifying its efforts and engagements at both the international and regional levels to halt escalation and contain crises, commending Jordan’s active role in supporting de-escalation efforts and reinforcing regional stability.
The two leaders discussed the latest regional developments, including the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. President El-Sisi lauded Jordan’s wise positions in addressing the current developments, reaffirming that Egypt considers Jordan’s security an inseparable part of its own national security. The President emphasized that the shared destiny urges enhanced Arab cooperation and unity in order to address the challenges at hand.
For his part, His Majesty King Abdullah II expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast and supportive positions toward Jordan, affirming the Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with Egypt and fellow Arab nations to spare the region further tension and to work toward resolving crises at the earliest possible time. Jordan’s King also commended the solid fraternal bonds that unite the two countries and their peoples.
President El-Sisi underscored the importance of consolidating the concept of collective Arab national security to safeguard Arab states against any threats or aggressions, stressing that Arab unity remains the most effective path to confronting current challenges and preserving regional stability.
