President El-Sisi Speaks with Jordan’s King HM King Abdullah II

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said that King Abdullah II extended his greetings to the President on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, expressing his sincere wishes that it may return with goodness, prosperity, and blessings for the Egyptian and Jordanian peoples, as well as all Arab and Islamic nations.
President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for this kind gesture, extending his greetings in return to the King and the brotherly Jordanian people on this blessed occasion, and wishing the Kingdom of Jordan continued stability, growth, and prosperity.

The two leaders discussed during the call developments in regional issues of mutual concern. They affirmed the unity of the Egyptian-Jordanian stance on the need to de-escalate the current tensions and the importance of integrating Arab efforts to restore regional security and stability. In this context, the President reviewed the outcomes of his Gulf tour, reaffirming Egypt’s firm position in condemning aggression against brotherly Arab states and the necessity of respecting their sovereignty and stability.

The call also addressed the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Jordan, with the two leaders stressing the importance of maintaining the momentum of existing cooperation across various fields, in a manner that serves the interests of both brotherly peoples, particularly in light of the rapid developments and challenges facing the regional system.
