Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone with the President of the Republic of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the President affirmed Egypt’s support for the security and stability of Chad and its full condemnation of the recent attack on the presidential palace in the capital N’Djamena. The President noted President Déby’s role in leading his country’s efforts to confront and defeat terrorist groups and stressed Egypt’s continued support for Chad’s steps in combating terrorism and extremism.
President El-Sisi also extended his congratulations to the Chadian president on the legislative election held recently and his party winning the majority in the National Assembly in Chad.
The president of Chad expressed his great appreciation for the President’s call and for Egypt’s continued support for the security and stability of his country. In this regard, the president of Chad laueded the close and longstanding relations between the two countries and stressed his country’s keenness to develop cooperation with Egypt across various fields.
