Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Tshisekedi.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, said the call touched on bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation, in line with the aspirations and interests of the two brotherly peoples. The two presidents affirmed their commitment to advancing relations in various fields. The Congolese president expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support for his country, which is positively reflected on development efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The two presidents discussed the peace and security situation in Africa and stressed the importance of concerted efforts to protect the continent from the repercussions of the fluctuations in the international arena, and to benefit from international platforms to present African views on issues related to the direct interests of the continent, which allows for the realization of the aspirations of the African peoples to achieve security and stability. The Congolese president was keen to praise the efforts made by Egypt in this regard. The two presidents agreed to continue coordination and consultation in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples and the African continent in general.
