President El-Sisi Speaks with President of Tanzania Samia Hassan

This evening, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Hassan.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said President El-Sisi congratulated the President of Tanzania on her re-election for a second presidential term, as well as on the completion of parliamentary elections and the formation of the government. The President lauded the remarkable progress in bilateral relations which stand as a model of cooperation and economic integration among African nations, and affirmed the two countries’ commitment to further strengthening political consultations.

President of Tanzania Dr. Samia Hassan expressed her appreciation for President El-Sisi’s congratulations, stressing the Tanzanian government and people’s pride in the support provided by Egypt across various fields. She looked forward to welcoming President El-Sisi to Tanzania at the earliest opportunity to inaugurate the Julius Nyerere hydroelectric Dam. In this regard, the Tanzanian President expressed her sincere gratitude for the President’s efforts, which contributed to the completion of this major dam project.

The call also focused on ways to advance economic relations between the two countries, emphasizing the vital need to boost trade exchange and to take further practical steps to achieve this objective. The President affirmed Egypt’s readiness to channel further Egyptian investments into the Tanzanian market and to contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects there. The President of Tanzania welcomed this commitment, noting the wide investment opportunities available for Egyptian companies, thereby fostering closer cooperation and integration between the two brotherly nations.
