President El-Sisi Speaks with Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the call addressed ongoing regional developments. The President emphasized the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to halt the escalation in the Middle East, contain the repercussions of the ongoing war, and spare the region from further instability or descending into widespread chaos.

The President reaffirmed Egypt’s support for the security and stability of Iraq and for efforts aimed at shielding it from any regional conflicts or tensions that could affect its security and stability. The President also stressed Egypt’s full support for the security of all Arab states and its firm rejection of any infringement on their sovereignty or any attempts to undermine their stability, capabilities, or territorial integrity.

The Iraqi prime minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s supportive stance toward Iraq’s security and stability, highlighting the measures taken by the Iraqi government to preserve the country’s sovereignty amid the current regional tensions. In this context, the President and the Iraqi prime minister discussed ways to intensify efforts to strengthen and safeguard the security, sovereignty, and stability of Arab states in the face of current challenges. They also agreed to continue consultation and coordination between the two countries in support of regional security and stability.
