Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from U.S. President Joe Biden. The two leaders discussed regional developments and the tension in the Middle East. Both leaders reviewed the latest efforts of the Egyptian-American-Qatari joint efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and affirmed their determination to continue these efforts in order to de-escalate the tension and restore regional peace and security.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, said that the call also addressed current concerns regarding the expansion of the conflict in the region. President El-Sisi emphasized the Egyptian vision on the severe repercussions of the ongoing war in Gaza and its negative impact on regional stability, taking into account that reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza is fundamental to restore calm and stability in the region.
The two presidents agreed to continue their intensive joint efforts to achieve a ceasefire and to work towards implementing the two-state solution as the primary guarantor for stability and security for all the peoples of the region.
