Press Statement The Egyptian State Information Service has issued a press statement on what is being circulated by global mass media and websites on the presence of the Egyptian Armed Forces in the Sinai Peninsula

The Egyptian State Information Service has reasserted that the Forces in the Sinai Peninsula mainly aim to secure the Egyptian borders against all risks, including acts of terror and smuggling. This comes within the framework of prior coordination with parties of the Peace Treaty which Egypt is fully keen to continue given that all over its history, the country has not violated a treaty or an agreement.
In another development, Egypt reasserts its full rejection of the expansion of the military operations in Gaza and the displacement of the Palestinians from their lands. Egypt also reasserts support of the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state in accordance with the two-state solution on the borderline of the 4th of June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
