Rashwan clarifies reality of Egyptian efforts to resolve Gaza conflict

Dia Rashwan, head of the State Information Service (SIS), stated that what was circulated during the previous days about Egyptian efforts to resolve the current conflict in Gaza and stop the Israeli aggression against it, is summarized as follows:

= Egypt has already put forward a framework for a proposal to try to bring viewpoints closer between all concerned parties, in an effort to stop Palestinian bloodshed, stop the aggression against the Gaza Strip, and restore peace and stability to the region.

= This framework was drafted after Egypt listened to the views of all parties concerned with it.

= The proposal includes 3 successive and linked stages, ending with a ceasefire.

= Everything related to the Palestinian government is a purely Palestinian issue and is the subject of discussion among all Palestinian parties.

= Egypt confirms that it has not yet received any responses to the proposed framework from any of the concerned parties.

= Finally, upon receipt of responses from the concerned parties, the proposal will be elaborated in detail, and will be announced in full to Egyptian, Arab, and international public opinion.

At the end of his statements, head of SIS called on all media outlets to be precise in dealing with everything related to this Egyptian proposal, and to return to official Egyptian sources for clarification of everything new.
