Head of the State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan, stated that the humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip was extended, with intense Egyptian-Qatari efforts, for one day.
He explained that this truce includes, so far, an agreement to release 10 Israeli detainees and 30 Palestinians, with the continued flow of humanitarian aid to the north and south of Gaza in the same quantities agreed upon in the previous six days of the truce.
The head of SIS indicated that there are ongoing Egyptian-Qatari contacts to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional two days, in an effort to cease fire, release more prisoners and detainees, and bring more humanitarian and relief aid into the Gaza Strip.
He explained that the intense Egyptian-Qatari efforts have resulted in overcoming many obstacles, which was facing the implementation of the armistice agreement today.
Rashwan confirmed that Egypt is closely following the implementation of the humanitarian truce agreement today and urges both parties to adhere to what was agreed upon.
He pointed that Egypt will continue to exert its utmost efforts to ensure the continued flow of humanitarian aid to the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
