They are: the official portal of the State Information Service which serves as an essential reference of information on Egypt ‘ds to both average users and specialized researchers at home and The SIS portal boasts a massive repository of information and news on covering all political, economic, social, touristic, and cultural aspects. Furthermore, the SIS portal provides in-depth information about Egypt’s foreign :
relations, with a special section dedicated for books, journals, and publications issued by the State Information Service. These are updated 24/7 in a user-friendly and appealing display method. The https://sis.gov.eg is published in five languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
The second portal, affiliated to the main portal of the SIS, is wholly dedicated to Africa, under the name of Egypt and Africa Portal. It was launched in 2019 in celebration of Egypt’s chairmanship of the African Union under then AU Chair President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. It also is a hub of a massive resource of information with a focus on Egypt’s relations with its African brothers and sisters, highlighting the country’s long outstanding role in Africa. The https://africa.sis.gov.eg hosts a comprehensive information on all African countries in terms of politics, economy and culture, among others. It is also being updated 24/7 and is issued in nine languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Portuguese, plus three African languages: Hausa, Swahili and Amharic.
The third portal, also affiliated with the SIS, is “Studies in Human Rights”. It is mainly focused on correcting the concepts of human rights, as it publishes academic research papers and reports in this field to reassert the comprehensive concept of human rights in all political, economic, social and cultural aspects. The https://hrightsstudies.sis.gov.eg serves as a firewall against all allegations and misleading information on Egypt in that department. Like the other two portals, it is being updated 24/7 and is issued in three languages: Arabic, English, and French.
Hundreds of Thousands of Documents in Digital Repository
Chairman of the State Information Service Diaa Rashwan has noted that one of the most important applications of digital media launched on 25th of September 2025 is the “Egypt’s Official Media Digital Repository”. The Repository has been made in collaboration with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology thanks to two-year extensive collective efforts. The Digital Repository
is a platform meant to document and archive the content published by the State Information Service and also the press statements released by relevant institutions, ministries, parliamentary councils, and official state agencies and bodies in Egypt.
The https://mediadr.sis.gov.eg is home to hundreds of thousands of media materials and documents of historical and research significance within the State Information Service’s Archive. The portal is a hub of a massive collection of translated books, journals and publications directed to the local and foreign public opinions. These have all been digitalized employing the state-of-the-art techniques in that department. The portal also hosts all government activities in local and global mass media, being translated within “World Press Digest” issued by the State Information Service.
SIS Mobile App
Employing the up-to-date technological means, Chairman of the State Information Service Diaa Rashwan has indicated that the SIS released its first ever mobile app that allows Internet users to access all what is being published by the State Information Service all over the clock.
Digital Content Available on Egypt’s Digital Heritage Portal
Putting into effect the directives of the President of the Republic on providing access to the Digital Content of Misr (Egypt) Cinema Newspaper, being an important national heritage that documents political, social and cultural events that took place in Egypt in more than half a century, the SIS is currently working to provide users with an access to the “Egypt’s Digital Media Repository” in collaboration with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology.
The Chairman of the SIS has elaborated that the State Information Service has conserved this huge national heritage and restored it, digitizing it in the past three years in collaboration with the Egyptian Media Production City “EMPC TV”. The conservation and restoration process has included chemical treatment, scanning, audio-visual processing, and color correction for more than 425 hours of rare
audio-visual film materials issued by Egypt’s Cinema Newspaper that documents life in Egypt since 1948.
Chairman of the State Information Service Diaa Rashwan has concluded his statements saying that the technological and media advancement never ceases to develop at the State Information Service, hereby commending the support which the SIS receives from the political leadership to promote its performance in its capacity as an official media organization, affiliated with the Presidency of the Republic, mandated to convey the media message of the Egyptian State to the world through a state-of-the-art media, employing the latest technological advancements that keep up to date with the recent developments in the field of international media and telecommunications.
