Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with President of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E Ismail Omar Guelleh.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, said President El-Sisi and President Guelleh valued the historical relations and close brotherly bonds the two countries share. They emphasized their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, further advancing joint cooperation, and intensifying collaboration across various fields, especially in the economic sector, as well as in investment and trade.
They also agreed to maintain joint consultations and coordination on regional issues of mutual interest.
During their call, the two Presidents also discussed developments in a number of issues in the African continent. They confirmed that they will continue joint efforts to bolster cooperation among regional countries, reinforce stability, and uphold the states’ sovereignty as part of efforts to fulfill the aspirations of the region’s peoples for development and prosperity.
The call also touched on the situation in the Red Sea region and ways to safeguard stability and the safety of maritime navigation. The two Presidents discussed forging closer cooperation among African nations within the framework of the African Union, in alignment with the developmental priorities of African countries and to serve the interests of their peoples.
