Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said the call focused on the latest regional developments. President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support and full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, government and people alike, in confronting the current challenges. The President stressed that Egypt categorically rejects and condemns the Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and the security of the Gulf States, and stands ready to provide all possible forms of support in defense of regional stability.
President El-Sisi noted that Egypt is exerting intensive efforts and engagements at both the international and regional levels in pursuit of an immediate cessation of the war. The President commended the UAE’s responsible role in supporting de-escalation initiatives and promoting stability.
The President lauded the measures undertaken by the United Arab Emirates to contain the current escalation and safeguard regional stability. The two leaders agreed on the imperative of working to de-escalate the situation and spare the region further tension and instability.
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his profound appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast and supportive positions toward the Gulf States, affirming the UAE’s commitment to continuing close coordination with Egypt and fellow Arab nations to avert further escalation and to work toward ending the war as early as possible. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also commended the solid and enduring fraternal bonds the two countries and their peoples share.
President El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt regards the security of the Gulf as an integral part of its own national security. The President confirmed that the shared destiny of the Arab nations necessitates strengthened cooperation and unity in confronting current challenges, underscoring the importance of consolidating the concept of collective Arab national security to ensure the protection of Arab states against any threats or aggressions.
