Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi paid a fraternal visit to the Sultanate of Oman, which lasted several hours, during which the president met with the Sultan of Oman His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq received President El-Sisi upon his arrival at the Royal Airport in Muscat, coming from the United Arab Emirates.
Also present were Egypt’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman Ambassador Yasser Shaaban and members of the Egyptian Embassy in Muscat.
The two leaders held an expanded session of talks attended by the delegations of both countries, followed by a closed bilateral meeting and then a working dinner banquet in honor of the President.
During the talks, President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full support and solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman in light of the current regional developments.
The President emphasized Egypt’s commitment to maintaining the stability of the Sultanate and all Arab states, and safeguarding their sovereignty, security, and the resources of their peoples.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq welcomed the President’s visit, affirming the deep and close historical ties between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the bonds of affection and brotherhood linking the two peoples.
The discussions also tackled the latest regional developments. The two leaders reiterated the importance of supporting efforts aimed at resolving the current regional crisis through negotiations, containing tensions, and avoiding escalation in order to spare the region further instability and severe repercussions that would affect all.
In this context, President El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s categorical rejection of any threat to the security and sovereignty of Arab states, considering their security an integral part of Egypt’s national security, while stressing the unity of the shared Arab destiny.
For his part, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast position and continuous support for the security and stability of Arab countries, valuing Egypt’s active role in de-escalation endeavors in the Middle East.
The talks also touched on bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the distinguished level reached in relations between the two countries and agreed to maintain joint efforts to elevate them to broader horizons, reflecting the depth of the strong ties between the two peoples.
At the conclusion of the visit, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bid farewell to the President at the Royal Airport in Muscat as President El-Sisi departed back to Egypt.
