President El-Sisi Meets President of Chad Déby on Sidelines of Africa–France Summit in Kenya

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President of the Republic of Chad, Idriss Déby, on the sidelines of the Africa–France Summit in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said the meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s commitment to further enhancing these relations across various political, economic, trade, and developmental fields, so as to bolster the historical bonds the two brotherly peoples share and fulfill their aspirations for development and prosperity. President El-Sisi stressed the necessity to build upon the positive outcomes of the Joint Committee meetings held in Cairo in November 2025.

The President of Chad expressed his country’s appreciation for the close relations with Egypt, affirming his keenness on fostering closer bilateral cooperation, particularly in the domains of trade and investment, as well as infrastructure development and the promotion of comprehensive development efforts. President Déby also commended the ongoing cooperation with Egypt in the healthcare sector.

During the meeting, the two Presidents exchanged views on the latest regional developments of mutual interest. President El-Sisi reaffirmed the imperative need to preserve the national institutions of regional states and to strengthen their role in confronting the various threats they are facing. President El-Sisi and Chad’s President Déby also discussed ways to settle regional crises through peaceful means, in order to preserve the sovereignty of states in the region and safeguard the resources and well-being of their peoples.
