Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al Yamahi, in the presence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Hanafy Gebaly.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President El-Sisi affirmed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Arab Parliament as a platform for dialogue on ways to promote the interests of the Arab peoples and lauded the diligent efforts of the Parliament members to strengthen ties between Arab countries, in order to serve the goals of the joint Arab action system. The President affirmed Egypt’s full support for the Arab Parliament’s efforts to achieve its goals, in light of the exceptional circumstances the Arab world is experiencing. This requires concerted efforts to preserve the interests of the Arab nation and the capabilities of its peoples.
The Arab Parliament Speaker expressed his honor to meet with the President and looked forward to enhancing cooperation with Egypt to serve common Arab issues. He also praised the leading role undertaken by Egypt, both its leadership and people, in safeguarding Arab national security, particularly Egypt’s efforts to resume the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, release hostages and detainees, and allow sufficient humanitarian aid into the Strip.
The speaker of the Arab Parliament looked forward to benefiting from Egypt’s pioneering parliamentary experience and to intensifying joint cooperation programs with the Egyptian side to improve the performance of the Arab Parliament, particularly the use of modern technologies and other tools that enhance its performance, as it is one of the primary Arab mechanisms for communicating with peoples and taking effective positions to protect the interests of Arab countries.
