Today, President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi received the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is on a fraternal visit to Egypt.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said a commemorative photo was taken of the two leaders upon their arrival at Al-Ittahadiya Palace. This was followed by an expanded session of talks attended by the two countries’ delegations, and a subsequent bilateral meeting between President El-Sisi and HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. Later, the President hosted an official lunch in honor of Egypt’s distinguished guest and his accompanying delegation.
The visit falls within the context of ongoing and close consultations between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries. President El-Sisi commenced the meeting by welcoming his brother, Egypt’s dear guest, and his accompanying delegation. The President underscored the special characteristics and deeply rooted strategic nature of Egyptian-UAE relations over the years. President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s unshakable position in support of the stability and sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates, and its full backing of all measures taken by its leadership to safeguard its territorial integrity, security, and the resources of its people. The President reasserted that the security of the UAE and the Gulf states is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, emphasizing Egypt’s unequivocal commitment to supporting the Gulf states and all brotherly Arab nations.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his profound appreciation for the generous hospitality and warm welcome, stressing the extraordinary nature of the official and fraternal bonds the two countries share. The UAE President affirmed his keenness on maintaining continuous consultation with President El-Sisi regarding diverse unfolding developments, on both the bilateral level and the prevailing regional situation. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his country’s deep appreciation for the President’s unwavering stance in support of the UAE and the Gulf states.
The two Presidents welcomed the recently concluded agreement to end the war with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. They also discussed a multitude of regional issues of mutual interest and agreed on the vital need to continue coordination of Arab positions to safeguard the security and interests of Arab nations in the coming period.
In this context, President El-Sisi reviewed the Egyptian vision for addressing the situation in the region, which is grounded in endorsing comprehensive, enduring, and peaceful solutions. This approach seeks to reinstate regional security and stability, and direct nations’ efforts toward development rather than depleting the resources of their peoples in conflicts.
